The hemp landscape was changed with the passage of the farm bill Dec 20, 2018.
Hemp was thereafter considered in the US an agricultural crop.
Prior to this people had been growing hemp under a patchwork of State run hemp research programs.
710 Vermont LLC was founded in Jan 2019 and acquired two land assets to grow hemp.
The land had to satisfy the following criteria:
- Land that had no fertilizer, chemical, synthetic or other inputs in the last 50 years.
- Land that is not recently a grazing field
- Land with decent access to water
- Reasonable price per acre
We have two growing sites one in Lyndon Center and another in Victory, Vermont
